This course combines an overview of the main elements of the International Safety Management (ISM) system code with key factors for successful implementation and explores typical pitfalls. It is intended both as an introduction for newcomers and as a refresher for the more experienced.
Learning objectives:
The content of the course is in line with the Guidance for IACS Auditors to the ISM Code to enhance the compliance with the requirements for safety and pollution prevention within companies and on board their vessels. Delegates will come away with a sound understanding of the principles and objectives behind the ISM Code and be able to implement SMS within company and ship.
