SINGAPORE – DNV Petroleum Services is pleased to announce that Dr. William P. Cullen has rejoined the company as a Senior Consultant, after retiring in 2004 from his position as head of DNVPS Inc. in the US.

Former head of DNVPS operations in the US, Dr. William P. Cullen, has a solid background in marine fuels business

Dr. Cullen is now a member of the DNVPS Americas team headed by regional manager Hauk Larsen Wahl.

Dr. Cullen earned a PhD in Natural Products Synthesis from the University College, Dublin, in 1968. Following a year-long post-doctoral fellowship at the State University College of Forestry at Syracuse University (now State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry), Dr. Cullen joined Texaco Inc. in 1969 as a senior research chemist. His work at Texaco resulted in a number of patents on lubricant and fuel additive technologies for the company.

In 1978, Dr. Cullen joined Texaco's International Marine Sales Department and became involved in both the technical and commercial aspects of the marine fuel business. He left Texaco for DNV in 1983, and in the same year started DNVPS' first US regional office and laboratory, located in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Says Mr Wahl, “Liam Cullen has a solid background in the marine fuel business. His technical and business expertise was an invaluable asset to our company in the past, and with his coming on board again, we’ve strengthened our capacity to provide the best knowledge-based fuel management solutions in the market.”
